At just under 77 inches, the ProMaster City is short enough for most parking structures and residential garages, a big advantage in cities. Inside, the cargo area is still 54 inches tall.

Midsize work van returns under $40K
Starting MSRP*$37,400

The 2027 Ram ProMaster City is an all-new midsize commercial van that fits under 80 inches, so it clears most garages. It is available as a cargo van or a five- or eight-passenger wagon, with a turbocharged four-cylinder and front-wheel drive. Ram is pitching it at small businesses, couriers and trades that do not need a full-size ProMaster.
The West take
Small vans make sense where parking is tight: downtown Honolulu, San Francisco, Santa Monica, Denver's LoDo. The ProMaster City is the compact option, a front-drive van with a 1.6-liter turbo making 166 hp and 221 lb-ft. Ram's preliminary targets are 2,200 pounds of payload and roughly 2,000 pounds of towing with the optional Class 3 hitch. Cargo space is more than 167 cubic feet, the fuel tank holds 18.5 gallons, and the turning diameter is just over 42 feet. Pricing starts at $37,400 for the Tradesman Cargo and $40,100 for the Passenger Wagon, before destination. On Hawaii's islands, short distances suit the small engine, though salt air calls for regular washing and underbody care. EPA ratings are not yet published.

The load floor is 111 inches long and more than 48 inches wide between the wheel arches, enough for a pair of standard U.S. pallets placed front to back. Total cargo volume tops 167 cubic feet.

A sliding door sits on the passenger side, and the rear has either swing doors that open to 180 degrees or a new optional liftgate. Eleven combinations of windows, panels and rear doors are offered.

A 1.6-liter turbo four makes 166 horsepower and 221 lb-ft, driving the front wheels through an eight-speed automatic. Ram's early targets are 2,200 pounds of payload and about 2,000 pounds of towing.

Standard equipment includes a 10-inch digital gauge cluster, a 10-inch touchscreen with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats and a digital rearview mirror. The SLT adds front parking sensors and wireless charging.

Smaller than a full-size van, but not tiny. It is just under 77 inches tall, so measure parking garage clearances before taking jobs in downtown towers. Its wheelbase is 129 inches and the turning diameter is just over 42 feet, which is manageable on city streets and in loading zones.
Only a light one. Ram targets about 2,000 pounds with the optional Class 3 hitch and 2-inch receiver, and those figures are preliminary. That suits a small utility trailer with a mower or hand tools, not a loaded equipment trailer. For heavier work, look at the full-size ProMaster, rated up to 7,130 pounds.
The Tradesman Cargo starts at $37,400 plus $2,595 destination, or $39,995 delivered. The SLT Cargo is $38,900, the Tradesman Passenger Wagon is $40,100 and the SLT Passenger Wagon is $41,600, all before destination.
Ram says production starts in 2026 and vehicles reach dealers in the first quarter of 2027. Orders opened in the second half of 2026.

Usually, yes. It stands just under 77 inches tall, and Ram calls it the only Class 2 commercial van below 80 inches, so it clears most standard garage openings and parking structures.
Yes. The Passenger Wagon seats five, or eight with the optional third row, and has side-curtain airbags for the rear rows. The second and third rows come out when you need to turn the wagon into a cargo hauler.
